Bio

A graduate in Philosophy from Milan and in Law from Pavia, Patrizia Borsellino has taught and conducted research at the University of Milan, the University of Insubria, and the University of Milan-Bicocca, where she also served as Director of the Department of Legal Systems and Director of the Master's Program in Bioethics and Law for Clinical Practice.

In continuity with the teachings of Mario Dal Pra, Norberto Bobbio, and Uberto Scarpelli, she has embraced the constructive cultural model, in which the development of theoretical tools is inseparable from the resolution of urgent social problems and important civil battles. This model has informed her studies in the Philosophy of Law and those in bioethics and biolaw, also working on university and hospital ethics committees, the Committee for End-of-Life Ethics, of which she is president, and associations such as Vidas in Milan, committed to promoting the rights of patients at the end of life. She has participated, as an expert, in hearings before the Chamber of Deputies and Senate Committees on bills regarding informed consent, advance directives on treatment, and medically assisted death.

In an international context, he carries out his activity within the International Chair in Bioethics (ICB)
