Bio
After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 2007 from the University of Florence, he continued his scientific training with a Master's in Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College , University of London. From 2012 to 2015, he obtained a PhD in Developmental Medicine and Programming Sciences from the University of Padua and worked at the IRCCS "Eugenio Medea" in Conegliano Veneto. In 2019-2020, he completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Padua. In 2021, he began his medical specialization in Respiratory Diseases at the University of Foggia. Since 2010, he has taught the Master's in Neuroscience at the IOPPN at King's College , London.
From the beginning of his neuroscience research, he has approached the study of neurological disorders, starting with multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, using both a clinical and laboratory approach. While conducting a project on SOD-1 toxicity in experimental models and acquiring laboratory skills, he also developed a particular interest in movement disorders. His primary research focus is the study of cerebellar ataxias, particularly Friedreich 's ataxia . He has explored the clinical aspects as well as brain volume, diffusion, and cerebral-cerebellar activation characteristics using advanced neuroimaging techniques in this pathology. The results of his research have been published in international scientific journals and presented as papers at national and international conferences.
