Role
Head of Research and Development at SEAS-SA; external researcher and adjunct professor at the University of Pavia.
Bio
After graduating in civil engineering with a specialization in hydraulics from the University of Pavia in 2001, Lucia Cattani pursued a master's degree in surface water protection. She then attended an acoustics course at FAST, becoming a qualified environmental acoustics technician, and earning a doctorate in Energy and Environmental Technologies from the University of Bergamo. She also became an energy certification expert.
From 2001 to 2014, she worked at the University of Pavia as a tutor, external collaborator, and adjunct professor in the technical physics laboratory. Among the pioneers of energy certification in Italy, she taught and conducted activities in acoustics, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
In 2012, with the University of Pavia, she participated in the development of a prototype for producing water from the air. Since 2014, she has been responsible for Research and Development at SEAS-sa, where she studies integrated systems for extracting water from the air and energy efficiency. She continues to collaborate with the University of Pavia on research, with international publications, and as a contract professor. She is now recognized as an international expert in AWH (Atmospheric Water Harvesting) . For the innovation of her work, she received the Tecnovisionarie Award in 2024.
Her research interests include atmospheric water , energy efficiency , alternative energy, thermodynamic cycles, and environmental acoustics. Her work focuses on addressing water scarcity and energy conservation by integrating water production, heating, and cooling. She is a topic editor and scientific reviewer.
