Bio
After graduating in Physics from the University of Rome La Sapienza in 1985, she worked for 10 years in various industries, including Ansaldo Sistemi Industriali in Milan, where she was head of R&D (digital control drives). In 1995, she became a researcher in Electronics at the University of Brescia.
In 2002, she became an associate professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurements and has been a full professor since 2016. In 2004, she created the Italian Competence Center for Profibus and Profinet. Since 2011, she has been a member of the Scientific Council of SPS Italia and, between 2013 and 2016, she was a member of the ADCOM of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society.
He founded and coordinates the ES3 (Embedded Systems and Smart Sensors) research group, composed of nine faculty and researchers, and creates and directs the eLUX laboratory. His scientific activity focuses on distributed measurement systems , sensor interface circuits, embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, and synchronization.
She has conducted research on IoT and LoRaWAN technologies for distributed measurement applications, with implications for industry, smart grids , smart living, and smart mobility . She is co-author of national and international patents (e.g., GDNET, the first Italian Real Time Ethernet). She is the PI of several funded projects in the smart cities field and is currently responsible for Spoke 5 (light mobility) of the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST) at the University of Brescia. She is among the top 20 of the Top Italian Women Scientists (Engineering) and in 2024 she was named an IEEE Fellow for contributions to distributed wireless measurements for industrial systems.
